vaincre:

Saw Lady GaGa yesterday and was positively blown away by her ridiculously wonderful (wonderfully ridiculous?) costumes, eek-don’t-fall-in-those-heels choreography, and of course, her flawless pipes.
Also, the fact that she can play not only piano, but jazz piano made me love her even more than ever before.

Jazz piano!  I missed her Saturday show.  Oh, the darkest depths of Woe.

Hello,

Text

Life has been keeping me busy.

I like men who cycle to work in suits and dress shoes.  And not men who cycle in spandex and think they are hardcore.  The speed limit is 20km/hr and the view is beautiful by the canal and lake.  Why not enjoy it?

On a similar vein, I was reading the Carine Roitfeld (editor-in-chief of French Vogue) interview with Jonny Johansson.  Read it here.  It’s very insightful about her perspective, and is centred on French culture, the outlook on fashion and sexuality — subtility above all else, the ability to dress sexily while wearing relatively conservative clothing.

Hmmm… Should I get this bike to commute to work? And how much should I offer for it?

It is a bit of a dichotomy.  I am at my best in a new city.  No one knows me here.  I am chatty, I am me.  There are no pretenses or expectations.  At the same time, I crave for the familiar and comfortable — I miss my city like the pairing of soft time-worn jeans with sneakers.  I don’t think I am alone in this experience…

I have moved to Ottawa for work. And I love it so far. Maybe this is the honeymoon phase… but I don’t care, because this is what I see on my walk to work.  It’s refreshing compared to Toronto.
